Houthalen-Helchteren, September 27, 2024 – On Friday, September 27, 2024, Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works, Lidia Peeters, will open the completely renovated EVport Business Center in Houthalen-Helchteren. With ultra-modern office spaces, super-fast internet for everyone, and a wide range of facilities, the center offers everything entrepreneurs need to grow. Thanks to the recent renovation and expansion, the buildings are now equipped with advanced sustainable energy solutions that significantly reduce the ecological footprint of everyone working there. All of this is nicely summarized in the name: E(trepreneurial) V(ision), P(rofessional) O(office),
R(enewal) T(hrive), where "Renewal" emphasizes sustainable growth and innovation, and "Thrive" focuses on flourishing in a sustainable and environmentally conscious environment.
Green Energy and Innovative Infrastructure: SDG Goals in Practice
EVport is the place to do business for companies that prioritize innovation and sustainability. The EVport Business Center officially opened its doors today. The Business Center is the place for companies that want to move forward.
With state-of-the-art office spaces, ultra-fast internet for everyone with speeds up to 1 GB thanks to the latest WiFi 7 technology, special soundproof rooms for calls, fully equipped meeting rooms with the latest technological features, and a wide range of offerings.
Building 1 has already been completely renovated and fully leased. The renovation of Building 2 is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Companies can already register for office spaces or workspaces in Building 2, ranging from flex desks to fully furnished offices starting from 16 m².

Also in terms of sustainability, the business center occupies a unique position. The business center contributes to sustainable energy use, for example with an extensive solar panel system on the roofs and carports.
The generated energy goes in this case to the batteries of the electric cars in the parking lot and to the company buildings. The generated energy is used for the large public charging station park with 28 connections and 2 fast chargers that can charge up to 320 KW, where both employees and visitors can charge their electric vehicles 24/7 with self-generated green electricity.
That is possible even when the sun isn’t shining. Because the surplus energy on sunny days is also stored in a high-tech battery storage system, making green electricity available even when the sun is temporarily not shining.
EVport Business Center also uses an AI-driven energy management system. This smart system ensures the intelligent storage of energy, taking into account the current energy prices.
